300 Hour Yoga Teacher Training
About 300 Hour Yoga Teacher Training at Mahi Yoga
Our carefully designed Multi-style Yoga course provides training in three main styles of yoga: Hatha (including traditional and therapeutic), Ashtanga Vinyasa, and Vinyasa Yoga. All our courses are certified by Yoga Alliance, USA.
In our 200hour yoga course we lay the foundations of yoga knowledge, and teaching techniques, while our 300-hour advanced course aims to build and perfect that knowledge even further. The course will hone your skills as a practitioner and a teacher. We aim for students to leave being able to instruct all levels of practitioner effectively whilst giving deeper instruction on both the subtle and physical aspects of yoga.
The 300 Hour Yoga Teacher Training focuses on advanced teaching techniques, intelligent sequencing and the therapeutics or benefits of yoga asana. Emphasis on hands-on adjustment, use of props and subtle yoga anatomy are key to the course’s success in building confident teachers. We deliver this knowledge by weaving together theory, physical practice and the subtler introspective aspects such as meditation in order to provide our students with holistic yoga experience. We believe in learning through experience and therefore our courses are highly practical and experiential.
Even though these courses are aimed at prospective teachers, and we teach in detail how to teach, all of the knowledge learnt can be applied to the individual practitioner. Therefore we recommend the 300 Hour Yoga Teacher Training for practitioners who want to deepen their practice as well as those who wish to teach.
The 300-hour yoga teacher training is an intense course that is a total yoga immersion where you can expect to experience many positive changes. It lifts a yoga teacher’s understanding and technique to another level. Students often comment on the wonderful changes the course brings to their life.

Sitting amidst the snow-covered peaks of the Dauldhar mountains, clear blue sky and faint chants of Buddhist monks is the Mahi Yoga retreat in Dharamshala. Dharmashala is home to his Holiness, the Dalai Lama.
The center was founded by Guru Mahi, who began practicing yoga at the tender age of 11 and continued to deepen his practice as he grew. He started the Mahi Yoga training center with the purpose of spreading the knowledge of yoga in its purity.
Mahi Yoga and Training center is a registered yoga school under the Government of India and has certification from Yoga Alliance USA, ensuring that students who come to Mahi Yoga for advanced teacher training courses not only learn yoga from some of the best teachers but also have the credentials to make a career in yoga internationally.
At Mahi Yoga, the student learns not only hatha yoga but the hidden treasures of meditation as well as Mudras, Pranayama and even ayurveda and vedic gazing. The teachings are not limited to just the transmission of theory but in fact are a process for illuminating the soul. The center's well-qualified international teachers teach with patience and skill.
Teachers at Mahi Yoga pay attention to the physical postures of students as they do their asanas. Guru Mahi himself inspects the progress of every student and identifies the right time when a student is ready for more complex asanas and next level of yoga. Students interested in getting to know the philosophical aspect of yoga can do so in special sessions held by Guru Mahi.
Learning Ayurveda
Apart from yoga, students also have the oppertunity to learn about Ayurveda. Yoga and Ayurveda go hand in hand as one is a discipline and another is practice of that discipline. With knowledge of ayurveda, yoga teachers can enhance their own practice and help their students overcome physical problems.
Teachers at Mahi Yoga Center
Yoga Guru Mahi: Yogi Mahi comes from a family of Yogis, dedicated to Yoga Meditation & Pranayama, therefore focusing on the spiritual development of a human. His father was a disciple of Sri Ramana Maharishi.
When he turned 18, Mahi went to India to continue his development on the yoga path, staying in Mysore, Bangalore, Rishikesh, absorbing different styles of teaching. He also studied under senior Iyengar teachers, learning how to focus on technical aspects of hatha yoga alignments and anatomy. At the center he teaches the therapeutical effect of asanas and their adjustments.
